Kokanee Fishing Lures

After more than 25 years of kokanee fishing, I’ve learned that matching color to depth is one of the simplest ways to put more fish in the net. This guide covers how water filters color, how to choose a dodger finish, how UV and glow work, and how to build a color plan you can use on the water.

The trouble for beginners is the sheer number of choices. Squids, hoochies, spinners, plugs, different colors, different leader lengths. It’s easy to buy a pile of tackle and still not know what to tie on. This guide walks through the main lure types for trolling, how each one works, and when we’d fish it.
